approach
Where the dark begins
Folk horror, ghost stories, slow-burn dread. Place often inspires the work — landscape that does something to the people inside it, that becomes a character. Haunted houses, remote wilderness, isolated ships at sea. The work has run from family horror to environmental reckoning to a quiet rage at the modern world. What runs through all of it is character — flawed, specific people facing things larger than themselves. Dark Wander's stories are always atmospheric, dark, and moody.
Dark Wander is proudly independent. We hand pick lean teams selected for what each project needs, not the industry default. Decisions are made on what serves the story. We create work that punches above its budget because every choice has been made deliberately.
