A lifeboat crew member wakes to find the boat empty and her hearing gone. 

"Mayday started with a location. The National Emergency Services Museum was kind enough to allow us to shoot in their retired lifeboat, and after a tour of the cramped spaces, Frankie and I hashed out the story in an afternoon. The boat - a claustraphobic series of hatches and steep ladders where in places you have to bend double to move through it - 

"The eco element came about naturally. We live in a time where the natural world is pillaged remorselessly, natural resources are stretched, and eco systems decimated. But there is also the human element. Pushed always to do more - in this case to catch more - just to earn a living. This short film poses the question; what happens if nature fights back?"
